There are books written about how to manage your business from the numbers, and in them, are many theories. I’d like to offer mine. Of course we need to look at all three major financial statements, the Balance Sheet, the Income Statement, and the Statement of Cash Flows.
If I had to pick the one place on the financial statements that would serve as THE place, from which to set benchmarks, and measure progress, it would not be the income, or the net income. I suspect that’s what most people would choose.
