At BQE, our goal is to constantly innovate and deliver exceptional value to our customers. That’s why we recently released our 24th major update to CORE in less than 4 years. That’s also why since our founding in 1995, BQE has served 400,000 users globally, and helped our customers manage close to $10 billion in billing and invoicing.

Our track record of success, coupled with an unwavering commitment to delivering the best possible customer experience, has paid off by attracting attention from more than just our customers, however. Our flagship product - CORE - was recently rated amongst the best billing and invoicing software platforms by PCMag, and GetApp’s Accounting Category Leader for 2021. This comes on the heels of the company as a whole winning awards like Best Work/Life Balance, the Top 50 Best CEO’s for Diversity, the Top 50 Best CEO’s for Women, and Inc. Magazine's Best Workplaces.

With such prestigious accolades, it should therefore come as no surprise that we’ve been on our competitor’s radars, as well as outside investors. After months of discussions, coupled with in-depth due diligence, we are pleased to announce that we recently received a significant investment from Serent Capital, a growth-focused private equity firm that invests in technology and tech-enabled software companies. Their team has experience as CEOs, strategic advisors, and board members for an impressive portfolio of successful companies, and will assist us in accelerating our product innovation, while simultaneously helping more customers operate efficiently through our award-winning platform, CORE.

Why Did We Choose to Partner with Serent Capital?

As you probably already know, we have never been satisfied with just being “good enough,” and are constantly evolving and improving our product for the sake of our customers. We chose Serent as our partner because they:

  • Know technology businesses well, and have invested in several professional services technology companies over the past few years
  • Bring deep expertise in areas that will be valuable as we continue to grow BQE, including enhancing our ability to serve the needs of our customers by providing additional capabilities and services
  • Have a reputation for possessing impeccable values, which is one of the core foundational values of the entire team at BQE

What Does the Serent Capital Investment Mean for Our Customers?

Serent invested in BQE because – simply put – our system works. As such, there will not be any immediate changes that you, as our customer, will notice. Our entire executive team will continue in their current roles, with a steadfast commitment to all employees and clients of BQE. The individuals and teams you are accustomed to working with will not change. Our process will remain as powerful and effective as it’s always been.

Quite frankly, Serent didn’t invest in BQE because we needed money. They invested in us so that we can use the additional capital to do even bigger and better things.

With that in mind, the top 3 areas we will be focusing on are as follows:

  • Enhancing BQE’s capabilities and business processes so that we can continue to scale and grow
