Transforming Lives With Race Across America & World Bicycle Relief

BQE Software sponsors Race Across America to transform businesses and lives. See how we changed the lives of hundreds of children!

On June 16th, BQE Software will participate in a thrilling journey and change the lives of over 1,000 people in the process.

With the company’s sponsorship, BQE Chief Creative Officer Steven Burns, FAIA and Team BQE CORE will be be competing in the legendary Race Across America while raising money for World Bicycle Relief. By meeting their $30,000 fundraising goal and taking part in this grueling race, we will have a lasting impact on the independence and well-being of underprivileged communities.

Race Across America

The Race Across America is known as the hardest bicycle race in the world, and with good reason. The 3,000-mile route spans 12 states, starting in Oceanside, California and ending in Annapolis, Maryland. Across this trek, cyclists will climb more than 170,000 vertical feet.

Unlike other famous bicycle races like the Tour de France, Race Across America is a continual race. This means that there are no breaks—instead, cyclists race around the clock. Race Across America is also 30% longer than the Tour de France and riders must finish in approximately half the time.

For its 160 amateur and professional participants from 22 countries, the Race Across America is truly the challenge of a lifetime.

World Bicycle Relief

Team BQE CORE is riding to raise money for World Bicycle Relief (WBR), a groundbreaking organization with a unique mission. They foster sustainable change in impoverished communities around the world by providing bicycles to students, breadwinners, and medical providers.

These bicycles offer mobility to recipients in the literal, social, and economic sense. By being able to safely travel to school, work, or patients in need of medical care, beneficiaries achieve independence and a better quality of life for themselves and their communities.

It only costs $147 to donate a bicycle to someone in need, and, on average, each bicycle transforms the lives of 5 people. Since 2005, WBR has helped over 1.9 million people get the education, economic security, and healthcare they need. These statistics paint a compelling picture of the organization’s positive contributions:

  • School attendance increases up to 28% among student recipients.
  • Community healthcare workers see 45% more patients when using their WBR bicycles.
  • Dairy farmers make up to 25% more deliveries when given WBR bicycles.

WBR is particularly near and dear to BQE’s heart because both organizations offer the tools to help individuals and businesses succeed. We’ve realized that the right solution and knowledge can have incredible results that reverberate throughout communities and companies for years to come.

We hope you’ll join us in donating to WBR’s critical efforts, no matter the amount you give.

You can rest assured that your money will be put to good use, as the non-profit has achieved a 100% score for accountability and transparency from Charity Navigator.
