Like the desktop edition, BillQuick Online handles retainers really well. With many other time and expense billing software options, you essentially need a work around, to handle retainers. This comes up so often, that it seems crazy to think that it would not be built into the process any any billing software application, that’s meant to handle accounting.
You have to go into the client, or the project to produce a retainer. You’ll find this under Billing, in Retainer History. Once there, you’ll see “Create Retainer Invoice.” From there it is very straightforward, how to invoice the retainer.
Next you’ll want to know how to apply the retainer. This is also really easy to do. Under billing, go to Payments. The trick to this is in the payment method. You have to click that drop down, and change it to “Use Retainer.”
