Some play it safe and buy an iPhone.
Others choose from the wider variety of Android devices (and prices).
You might have a Blackberry that now, after a few years of use, is like an extension of your hand.
And then you might be dancing to a different beat. You have the latest technology. . .the Windows 8 Phone.
Why bring this up? Because you’ve asked questions about BillQuick and mobile phones.
So . . .
Which phones does BillQuick Mobile support?
BQE Software chose to first support the Apple iPhone and Android phones. Both offer the tools to create a native app without huge hurdles.
Note that these are native apps, not web pages masquerading as apps. The difference is that the app works whether you’re connected to your cell network or a WiFi network. When off your network, the app saves time and expense entries in your phone. Then when BillQuick Mobile senses you’re back on a network, it sends the entries to your company database.
BillQuick Mobile is an extension of BQE’s browser software – Web Suite and BillQuick Online. The free apps can download from iTunes and the Google Play Store.
What about Windows 8 phones?
We’re waiting in anticipation on Microsoft (as of June 15, 2012). There is a lot of potential in this mobile platform. Also, Microsoft’s experience facilitating development of applications with excellent tools is another positive. We’ll keep you posted.
And what about Blackberry phones?
At this time, BQE takes a wait and see position with Blackberry devices. RIM has gone through challenges over the past few years.
What about iPad and tablets?
The BillQuick Mobile apps work on the iPad and Android tablets. However, they are not designed for the larger screen size.
BQE continues to work on BillQuick Mobile improvements. iPad and tablets are on our road map. We’ll keep you posted.
