For anyone who has a lot of gray hair, the process of creating a floor plan involved lots of precise measurements, large pieces of paper and expensive software.
You can now create a floor plan in a few minutes just by taking pictures.
While not a challenge to architects and draftsmen, MagicPlan is an amazingly simple and easy app for iPhone 4 and iPad 2 users. All you do is take pictures. There is no need to measure, move furniture or draw. You don’t need to be an expert or know how to program. In minutes, MagicPlan measures, draws and publishes an interactive floor plan on the web.
One of my neighbors used MagicPlan when they were planning a new rec room and deck. They also used it to plan the arrangement of furniture in the new room. Another neighbor used it to document their house for insurance. They also shared MagicPlan with a part-time interior designer. She uses an iPad 2 to first analysis a space, then she sits with the client to discuss ideas.
I wonder what other ways professionals might use MagicPlan to save time and deliver surprising client service?
